This grant enabled the implementation of a comprehensive mental health initiative aimed at addressing the critical need for mental health support within Indiana through nurses on IUSB’s campus. The grant facilitated:
- Training for faculty, staff, and students in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR);
- Building MHFA and QPR into formal nursing curricula to ensure students receive consistent and standardized mental health education throughout their academic journey;
- Developing a culture of well-being on the campus, including self-care resource pitches from students and wellness programming; and
- Developing a formal method and platform for measuring wellbeing outcomes and the effectiveness of the program.
