We are thrilled to share that Family & Children’s Center has received a landmark grant award from the Valinhos Foundation! This generous gift will fund a full-time licensed mental health therapist to support families in our Healthy Families, The Brain Train, and Community Partners programs across three years.
This grant is a game-changer for the families we serve! It will help us provide in-home therapy for moms experiencing postpartum depression symptoms. FCC estimates that around 20% of new mothers they support require substantial postnatal mental health support, this is around 5 points more prevalent than the national average. The therapist will serve as an in-house expert on clinical mental health and connect families to long-term supportive services.

Family and Children’s Center boasts an incredible impact – 99%+ families they work with remain free from child abuse and neglect. This gift will undoubtedly expand their impact further by improving the speed of mental health support services for postpartum moms.
