The St. Joseph County Wellness Project – SSI Initiative is supporting a new effort to expand access to mental health tools for teens across St. Joseph County. Led by psychology professors at the University of Notre Dame, the initiative is customizing the Project YES digital platform to better meet the needs of local youth struggling with anxiety and depression.

In addition to the online tool, the project will train 75 community members to deliver one-hour, single-session interventions that equip teens with practical coping strategies and trusted support contacts. The program will operate out of the new Veldman Family Psychology Clinic, opening in June, and will be guided in its first year by advisory boards made up of parents, youth, educators and local organizations.
