Founded in 1966 by the Brothers of Holy Cross, Holy Cross College initially operated as a two-year junior college. Its early years were defined by the transformative leadership of Brother John Driscoll, C.S.C., and later, Brother Richard Gilman, C.S.C., under whose guidance the College transitioned into a four-year residential liberal arts institution. Over the decades, Holy Cross has built a reputation for empowering students to achieve their academic and personal goals. It gained global recognition through its portrayal in the film Rudy, a testament to its enduring legacy of cultivating resilience and excellence. Today, under the leadership of Dr. Marco J. Clark, Ed.D., Holy Cross College continues to thrive as a destination institution, attracting students from across the United States and around the world. The College’s enduring commitment to educating both the mind and heart reflects the charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross, emphasizing community, faith, and service.
Holy Cross College offers a robust liberal arts curriculum to its 556 undergraduate students, featuring 14 majors and 22 minors. Its academic programs emphasize practical and experiential learning, ensuring that students are prepared for both professional success and personal fulfillment.
