DREAM Alive

Since 2011, DREAM Alive (DA) has been dedicated to combating poverty and social despair among vulnerable youth residing in the areas most affected by violence, poverty, and unemployment in Marion County. DA’s mission is centered on fostering authentic mentoring relationships that enable youth to discover their career aspirations while developing the social-emotional skills necessary for success. DA’s unique model integrates families, community, corporations, and volunteers into every step of the journey. What sets DA apart is its ongoing commitment to youth mentorship. DA walks alongside students from 6th grade through high school, providing daily support in schools and after-school programs. During the 2024-2025 academic year, DA served over 2,400 youth and provided more than 19,000 hours of mentoring. DA outcomes continue to be remarkable: a 99% high school graduation rate, an average GPA of 3.27, and a 91% reduction in suspensions among DA scholars compared to their peers.
